  1. Always something interesting to read on your site. Re. Historic Liverpool – I have been looking for some time for someone to write a book on the physical development of Liverpool – how it gradually absorbed the surrounding villages to create a single conurbation. One small problem is that Liverpool Record Office is closing for at least 3 years soon – but how about the challenge? My own interest is how the growth of the city relates to photography and other visual representations, so I have covered some of the territory in other books – but I have not really brought together the use of maps/photographs etc in a dynamic way that tells the story. (There is an excellent book on New York which adopts this approach).
